What is counselling?

In today's busy world it can be a relief to share personal distress and life's burdens with an impartial person who is able to hear and reflect upon what is being said.

Counselling is about helping you to develop insights into your own problems and then finding your own resources and strengths to move forward.

Your counsellor will listen to you. Then, together, you will come to understand your problems and their past, untangle the confusions methodically, and find ways of making a better future.

You will not be given advice and you will not be judged.

We can offer you regular weekly sessions with a counsellor who is trained to listen, support and help you find your own solutions to manage your problems. The service is confidential. We are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
